Tatum--2nd "No Hitter" of 2023

This girl is INCREDIBLE!  She just started pitching lessons this past November and she is ROCKING it on the field.  Her team is currently 6-0.  She just had another great game this past Friday (4/14/23).  I always enjoy reading the little "Game Recap" that Game Changer creates after each game:

Meeker Throws No-Hitter to Secure Heritage Academy Varsity Heroes Win Over Ridgeline Academy Eagles Varsity Softball

Tatum Meeker was brilliant on the rubber on Friday, as Meeker threw a no-hitter to lead Heritage Academy Varsity Heroes past Ridgeline Academy Eagles Varsity Softball 11-1.

Diana Ibarra collected five hits in five at bats to help lead Heritage Academy Varsity Heroes to victory.  Ibarra singled in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the fourth, singled in the sixth, and singled in the seventh.

Ridgeline Academy Eagles Varsity Softball got things moving in the first inning, when Gretchen Clower grounded out, scoring one run.

Heritage Academy Varsity Heroes pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning.  In the third Meeker singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and an error scored two runs for Heritage Academy Varsity Heroes.

Heritage Academy Varsity Heroes tallied three runs in the seventh inning.  Meeker and Ibarra all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Meeker was the winning pitcher for Heritage Academy Varsity Heroes. The pitcher allowed zero hits and one run over seven innings, striking out ten and walking zero.

Meera Hamieh took the loss for Ridgeline Academy Eagles Varsity Softball. The bulldog went seven innings, allowing 11 runs on 16 hits and striking out seven.

Heritage Academy Varsity Heroes totaled 16 hits in the game.  Ibarra, Meeker, and Daphne Torres each collected multiple hits for Heritage Academy Varsity Heroes.  Ibarra led Heritage Academy Varsity Heroes with five hits in five at bats.

Clower led Ridgeline Academy Eagles Varsity Softball with one run batted in. Clower went 0-for-3 on the day.

Max's Mission Call Opening!

WOW!  This all just got REAL!  Max's Senior year is flying past us but getting his mission call is the best part yet.  He of course had to make a big production of it all.  His call came earlier than expected--we were prepared to be delayed a week due to General Conference but the call came!  It was a LONG day for all of us as we were waiting for this:

Funny story:  Max has wanted to live in NYC FOREVER!  He even told our Bishop this.  He specifically told the Bishop, "I want to go foreign or New York, New York Mission--Spanish speaking."  Apparently there is a space on the mission papers where the Bishop gets to put a few comments in. Bishop Park wrote Max's exact words--"Foreign or New York, New York--Spanish Speaking."  We kept telling Max over and over again, "YOU DON'T GET TO PICK YOUR MISSION."  but by golly...THE BOY PICKED HIS MISSION!!!  We like to joke that it was a really busy week in SLC due to the upcoming General Conference and the conversation amongst the Apostles was probably like, "This is a really busy week but let's look at one more mission application....New York, New York?  Spanish Speaking? Alright.  Everyone good with that? Done."  Bishop Park's own son put in his application the exact same day as Max and his came a week later.  Maybe he should have had his dad put in a a specific mission call like he did with Max...😜. Whatever!  We will take it and Max is THRILLED to say the least.  He can now go live in NYC and either figure out how to live there forever OR get it out of his system.

He has such a great support group all around him.  We had people from all over come--Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, the Reservation.  How blessed we are to know so many people from so many different places.

Spring Break 2023--Florida!

Chris had to be in Florida for 10 days this March so we decided to all join him for part of it.  There were two show choir events happening over two weekends at the Hard Rock Cafe Live Theatre.  Max even had the opportunity to be the MC of the first weekend--his dream job in the future is to be a TV host of some kind so this was right up his alley!

Airboat Ride:  First thing--we wanted to do something that just says "FLORIDA" so we took an airboat ride to go see some gators.  I did NOT think we would see so many!  It was quite shocking!  We even saw baby gators.  I personally don't think gators are cute at any age and I would definitely NOT foster one😅 (Not that fostering gators is a "thing" it's just a cuteness gage I use).

St. Augustine, FL:  America's OLDEST (continuously inhabited) city
We also took a day trip out to St. Augustine to see the sights there.  A beautiful little city with brick streets, Flagler College, Cathedral Basillica of St. Augustine, Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, a lighthouse, & the oldest wooden school house.

Max just HAD to get his fortune😂

The water at St. Augustine beach was WAY TOO COLD for me so I gladly stayed out to watch our stuff and take pics:)

Buc-ees are THE BEST rest stops EVER!  We stopped at several of these when we drove through TX on our way to Louisiana a couple years back.  Carlie described them best--"It's like QT and Costco had a baby."  Well, they have them in FL too so of course we HAD to stop at one.

Universal Studios:  We had 5 day passes to enjoy all the parks here.  It was really nice to have so many days so we could get there early (we were allowed 1 hour early entrance) and then leave as it got too crowded.  We sure fit in a lot more rides this way.  We hit the water park the first day-Volcano Bay--and pretty much had the entire place to ourselves--no waits whatsoever.  (It was kinda a cold week in March but we braved it for a day--totally worth it!)
