Our Next Singing Star:)

This past Sunday was our annual Primary Program for our ward.  Tatum was asked to be part of a small group that would be singing, "I'm Trying to be Like Jesus."  Well, the "small" group ended up being just Tatum and her good friend, Natalie.  All good:)  They were SUPER cute and sounded pretty darn amazing.  Well....then poor little Natalie got sick--laryngitis--and could not sing with Tatum.  This was all decided about 7 pm on Saturday night.  So I tried to get Max to sing with Tatum but these two are currently going through a phase right now where they cannot be near each other for 10 seconds without fighting so that didn't work.  So at this point, Tatum was going to be solo--and she was TOTALLY fine with it!  I guess somehow the "stage fright" gene skipped my 2 girls because she DID it with NO reservations at all!  Just little Tatum up there by herself at the microphone.  SOOOOOO proud of this girl!!!  Here she is singing it at home:

Ethan & Brandon Piano Duet

I am SUPER proud of BOTH these boys!!!  They both did something that was most definitely out of their comfort zone today and they ROCKED IT!!!

Of course Ethan is my son but Brandon is one of my top piano students so I had a personal interest in BOTH of these boys doing well today.  They are both 10, in 5th grade, and this was their first performance in church.  I know that I was nervous enough for both of them--my hands were shaking like crazy!!!  But I can honestly say that their performance in sacrament meeting was the absolute BEST they had ever played it (even better than the recording I took before church:)

Way to go boys!!!  I couldn't have been more proud!  I'm a super proud mom & piano teacher today:)

Our New Puppy:)

Well, we have had a HORRIBLE dog year here at the Meeker house.  Our beloved Minnie of 10 years passed away in January.  Then our other dog, Ringo, ran away in March and never made it back--he managed to escape from our yard at least once a month:(  So this year I have been SOOOO sad because of my Minnie and then SOOOO mad because of our other dog.  So we had a "dog break" for a little over 6 months.  It was a LONG six months of my kids begging and pleading for another dog.  I was waiting until Tatum started school so that I would have time for a new puppy.  So here he is!!!!

He's plays hard...

then sleeps harder:)

He's got a rough life:)
His name is "Rocco" and he is a beagle mix.  We have had him for a full week now.  He is an amazingly smart dog as he has already mastered the doggie door AND potty training--HALLELUJAH!!!  He is a ball of energy for sure and is a HUGE distraction when I teach piano:)  But we LOVE him tons and tons.  It's been a LONG time since I've had a puppy but I am super excited for the challenge:)
