Theatre Workshops!!!

Max and Tatum wanted to do some theatre workshops this summer.  So offered at our favorite theatre were 2 workshops that matched my kids nearly perfectly!

Tatum was in the "Cinderella vs. Prince Charming" workshop.  We were SUPER excited to find out that one of her teachers was in our ward at church--Kaitlin B!!!  I had seen Kaitlin in a performance a couple of months earlier and was blown away at how amazing she was!  So Tatum played the role of the "Dutchess" in this play.  She did a fabulous job and earned the award for her awesome "Diction and Projection."
The whole class!

Ms. Kaitlin & Tatum

As soon as I read about this next workshop, I know Max HAD to do this!  It was all about the villians and bad/scary guys and was entitled, "The Bad Dream Before Christmas."  So Max got to be "Oogy Boogy" for this play and needless to say, he took his role VERY seriously and put a lot of thought into his hair/make-up/ and costume.  His performance was in the morning but then he insisted on keeping his make-up on for the rest of the day!  (This was one of the camps that Carlie assisted with.)

Max's production was a musical so I recorded his favorite song--where they brought up some poor random grandpa from the audience:)  The video is a little dark but the whole play was dark--perfect in my son's opinion:)  I was a little close but Max is easy to pick out:)

We went out to celebrate after the performances:)

Carlie's 15th Birthday!!!

Carlie's schedule this June has been INSANE!!!  She has pretty much been living at the theatre.  She has been "interning" under the music director by helping her run the theatre workshops.  So her basic schedule has been:
9:00-12:00--Workshop #1
12:00-3:00--Workshop #2
3:00-8:00--Big Fish rehearsals--some nights ran until 10:00 pm!

But this is the schedule she wanted and has absolutely LOVED being at the theatre so much this summer.  So with that schedule, it was impossible to have an actual party for her.  So her 15th birthday was pretty low-key.  Grandpa Frank & Grandma Sherry came up and we all went out to dinner.  And Carlie likes Blizzards from DQ more than cake and ice cream so that is how we finished the night.  So Happy 15th Birthday to my beautiful daughter.  I am so proud of you and your many talents and accomplishments:)

Carlie's Vocal Showcase!

Carlie has been in vocal coaching this past year with her most favorite teacher ever--Tracie J!!!  She had a recital at the beginning of June showcasing all of her vocal students and singing groups.  Carlie sang "Gimme Gimme" from Thoroughly Modern Millie.  She did a fantastic job of course:)  I wish I could have recorded it but it wasn't allowed.

Funny side note...Max did NOT like anything about what Carlie was wearing.  He thought she was very immodest and that she was wearing WAY too much make-up:)  Little brother trying to be the big brother:)
She received the "Outstanding Soloist" Award.

Rocco ON THE ROOF!!!

I was having some more insulation sprayed into our attic.  There were 2 guys in my home for several hours completing this job for me.  They had popped the screen of my master bedroom window so that they could pull the hoses through the window and not have to bring the insulation machine inside.  Well, I'm not completely sure if my dog jumped out my bedroom window OR if he climbed up the tall ladder left outside.  I was just working on paying bills when I hear..."Umm ma'am...your dog is on the roof."  I actually had to repeat that to myself a couple times before it actually made any sense at all!  Dogs don't get on roofs?!?!

So AFTER I determined that he was safe and not about to jump off, I snapped a few pictures and then lifted his 40 pound body over my bedroom window.  Of course crazy stuff like this only happens when my husband is out of town:)  I still just LOVE this crazy dog!  Couldn't be mad at him for too long:)

Tatum looses her FIRST TOOTH!!!

So this post is out of order!!!  This was a HUGE event in our home because Tatum has been waiting and waiting and WAITING to loose her first tooth--she was seriously the LAST one of all her friends!!! But it FINALLY happened (after I pulled it out:) on Friday, May 15th!!!  WOO HOO!

Boy's/Girl's Camp 2015!!!

Wow!  So the end of the school year seems to run right into Boys & Girl's Camp and before I know it, it's late June and our summer is half over!!!

We have had a FANTASTIC summer here in the Meeker home.  Busy kids with lots of places to be and it all started with the Deacons in our ward heading up to Camp Geronimo the first week of June.  A boy's camp would be boring without a few stitches and a little rain--thankfully, my son did NOT receive stitches but had a GREAT time!  I always love how talkative Ethan is when he gets home from camp.  His favorite parts of camp were his "Insect Studies" merit badge and working in the Scout Shop to earn his "Salesman" merit badge--he also earned some store credit which he bought a soda with:)  They also got some rain up at camp so they came home pretty dirty & muddy--this was the first time in over 30 years that Geronimo received rain during the first week of June!  Here are a couple pictures from the camp--men don't take very many pictures so I'm excited to have these few:

Next on to Girl's Camp!!!  This was my 4th year going--the last 3 years I was the Camp Director and I was REALLY happy to hand this over to a very capable lady that did a FABULOUS job!!!  It's always a TON of work to get here but always worth it!  And I'm REALLY glad/blessed to have a professional photographer in our YW's presidency!!!

ON OUR WAY!!!:

WE MADE IT!!!:

Can I just say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE these ladies!!!!

Can I just say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE these girls!!!

This was Carlie's 4th/High-Adventure Year!
So I didn't get to see her much!  But
was sooo glad to see her the last day:)

This is the BEST picture of our AWESOME Bishop T!!!

All the AMAZING Bishops in our Stake!
Every year we are asked to make a video or come up with a skit of some kind.  This year, Sis. J.B. took this project on and did a FABULOUS job!  I seriously thought we had the BEST video there--but of course I am very biased:

Another fantastic Girl's Camp in the books.  Every year gets better--I don't like camping anymore now than I did a year ago but I'll do it again next year if they let me:)
