My boys get simpler in some ways (and more complicated it others) as they age. For Max's birthday, he just wanted friends over, pizza, & a scary movie. So that's exactly what we did--and we left them alone--meaning no pictures taken even.
For our family party, Max didn't even want a cake. He wanted his favorite frozen bagged pasta and Rocky Road ice cream. DONE. Easy peasy. Happy 14th Birthday to my Max. Love you TONS and TONS kid:)
