Ethan's 18th Birthday!!!

All Ethan wanted for his 18th Birthday was a Smash Bros Party!  Chris's office has a side office with rental equipment--"Take One Rentals."  We went and arranged it with risers and soft chairs and made it into a cinema-type room for the Smash Bros to be projected onto a huge wall.  We provided food and man...we had over 20 kids there!!!  It was AWESOME!!!

We did our best to stay out of the way and let the Birthday Boy have his night so I didn't get too many pictures.  I did catch the end of the birthday singing--I wish I would have caught more because it was LOUD and hilarious:

BEST Game of her life!!!

Tatum was super excited to start her softball season this year at Heritage Academy.  The season started in January with month-long grueling try-outs.  There was NO Jr. High or JV team...ONLY Varsity.  So this little 7th grader had a LOT to prove.

She gave her 110% at every practice.  She has an interesting throw--she kinda "side-arms" it but is very accurate in her placement.  So even if an older girl didn't know her name, they knew her as "the girl with the crazy/good arm."

Tatum's BEST qualities in this sport is that she is SMART--she understands the game better than most other girls her age--and she stays COOL and rarely gets flustered.  She proved it again and again in practice.  She made it past the first cut, then the second cut, then...SHE MADE THE VARSITY TEAM!!!

So her first game was Wednesday, March 4th, 2020.  She was supposed to be the starting 2nd Baseman.  But due to ineligibility affecting a few of the other players, she was asked to play 3rd Base.  I did not make the game but Chris did.  He kept sending me text after text of how Tatum was playing:

Text 1-"Tatum just got an unassisted double play and then threw the girl out at first.  Triple play baby!!!  Unfortunately that was after they gave up 4 runs.  It's 4-0.  We are up to bat now."

Text 2-"She's up to bat...Single! Drove in a run.  made it to third on an overthrow."

Text 3-"Caught another line drive.  She's pretty much the best.  We are down 4-3.  We are up to bat again."

Text 4-"She just got a two run double!!!  We are up 8-4"

Text 5-"Okay.  She's freaking awesome.  Just caught another off her shoe tops."

Text 6-" Last inning. We are up 8-6.  Not looking great.  Fingers crossed."

Text 7-"8-7.  We need one more out."

Text 8-"WE WIN!!!"

Tatum really proved herself--not many players can say they were the main part of a triple play.  The school athletic director saw her make this play and he later told Max at school--"Your sister was ALL business.  She made that play and then went right back to position like it was no big deal.  She wasn't cocky AT ALL.  I really respect that."

She has played so long with her friend Chloe V.--who is an AWESOME pitcher and mostly strikes batters out at the plate or gets them out at 1st Base with Tatum covering that base.  But on this team, the pitching is lacking so she had to make things happen in the field.  Tatum's best game ever.  Chris took her out for milkshakes afterwards to celebrate.

I had my schedule all worked out so that I could make more of her after school games but then...CORONA VIRUS HIT and all HELL broke loose.  So what was supposed to be her busiest softball season--playing Rec AND school softball--ended up with everything cancelled.  HUGE BUMMER!  This is what I was most sad about during this time.  But oh well.  She'll prove herself again next fall I'm sure.  At least she can say they had an undefeated season.

Max's Movie--"Someday"

Max got his first paying movie gig!  He was hired to shoot a trailer for a feature film in hopes that funding will come for a full-length feature film.

He was cast as the 17 year son, Austin, of a police officer who gets involved in the wrong crowd and begins dealing drugs.  As you can see from the pictures, he gets beat up AND arrested--DREAM.COME.TRUE!  He was actually really excited to be the "bad boy" for once as he has most lately been the "nice/handsome guy."

It was a couple of LONG days on set but Max had the time of his life.

Kidnapped/ransom pics:

He's FINE!

On Set:

His "Dad" (Drew McCane) and bad guy "Alex" (Jose Rosete)

BIG argument scene

His on-screen brother "Tyler"

The girlfriend who tries to talk
him out of his life of crime:)

She's tiny or he's a GIANT:)

Camera Crew

So now we wait and see what happens with this.  They are working hard to get this into production--and they cast Max young so that he can still be the lead even if it takes a year or two to get the funding.  It was sure a great experience so even if nothing else comes of it, he had fun.

My BIGGEST Rescue yet!

Chris and I minister to a family that lives in the area of Black Water on the Pima Indian Reservation--pretty much next to Coolidge, AZ.  3 momma dogs on this property had puppies all within the same week.  The result:  25 unplanned/unwanted puppies.

Thank goodness for Lost Our Home Pet Rescue.  If it weren't for them, there is NO WAY I could keep rescuing these sweet babies.  With this large number of pups, I was allowed to use the official LOH van.

I'm SOOO OFFICIAL!!!

I loaded up with 17 of the 25 puppies and off to LOH they went for treatments/shots/surgeries.  They were then split up into smaller groups and put into foster homes for 1-2 weeks where they could finally get some much needed one-on-one attention.

2 weeks later, I get another text asking me to take 4 more puppies because the people who were "supposed" to come get them never did.  So I went out once again and gathered up these 4 handsome boys.  In honor of President's Day coming up this month, I made these my "Presidential Pups."  They go up for adoption this next week!

So 21 puppies off the Rez and on to their BEST LIVES!  LOH ROCKS!

My Puppy is THE CUTEST EVER!!!

Yep!  Sorry everyone!  I got the CUTEST PUPPY EVER!!!  No other puppy is as cute as my Lola Mae Sunshine New Moon Meeker:) . (That's her full Christian/Native American name:)

She's coming up on 4 months old and just LOOK AT HER:

Here's some great videos of little Lola in action:

Max is 15!

Nothing really exciting happens when you turn 15 around here--this is when I let Carlie dye her hair red:) . But here is our Max.  He's a 6 foot 15 year old man child:) . All he wanted this year was his home-cooked fried chicken dinner, Si Senor out-to-eat dinner, ice cream cake, and Air Jordan basketball shoes.  (Oh and an all boy-campout that will happen this summer).

One of my favorite videos of him right here:  (dang, he's SOOO handsome:)

Young Women's Awards Night

Even though Carlie is no longer home, Tatum will NOT be out-done by her.  So in true Tatum-fashion, she decided to finish her YW Medallion in a year because #1-it would be faster than when Carlie did it and #2-the Church has come out with a newer program and so this program is now over.

Whatever her reasons, Tatum Jane is AMAZING and we are crazy proud of her and her drive to exceed in everything she does.  Here she is with the other Santan Branch girls who earned their YW Medallions as well.
