Words cannot describe how CRAZY EXCITED I am for this year's Heritage Softball Team. These girls worked sooo hard last summer cleaning trash cans, hosting a bake sale/car wash, and then a softball clinic. All of their hard work has paid off and we were able to buy these girls new uniforms complete with hats/visors, and much needed equipment for their team.
Tatum made the team as a 7th grader, but after one game, we were shut down due to the COVID pandemic. Then this past year, I felt like we tip-toed through the season never really knowing IF we could have a full season and IF we would get shut down again--which thankfully we did not. But this year we are FULL STEAM ahead!!! The girls' first game was in Ajo, AZ this past Thursday. They went out there--2 hour drive--not sure what to expect. The Ajo team looked sharp with all new equipment/uniforms but our girls dominated them winning 16-3. Not a really exciting game since the Ajo team really struggled with pitching but Tatum make 2 big hits for the team. I was so grateful that a mom recorded this one for me:
So first game/victory in the bag!!! Now Heritage is on spring break for the next week--Tatum is in Puerto Rico for the break with her Spanish & Science classes--then back to a busy softball schedule. Let's go Heroes!!!
