Road Trip to NM!!!

So we enjoyed a relaxing break but then we ended it with a whirlwind trip to Deming! Soo, as Chris was out of town AGAIN, it was me and the fab 4 on a road trip! But before we could head out, we had a few things to tend to:

Saturday, March 27th was opening ceremonies for Carlie's Softball league AND Ethan's Baseball league. Soo...because there's only one of me, we chose to go to the Softball opening ceremonies because Carlie had team pictures right after. The ceremony was short, sweet, and to the point--gotta love that! The girls all looked great in their uniforms (ASU colors!) and Sparky the Sun Devil even showed up! Carlie's team decided to call themselves "The Dust Devils." This is Carlie's 3rd season playing but it's her first season of girl-pitch (she's been in coach pitch).

After pictures, I loaded up the kids and we drove all the way to NM with NO stops!!! A small miracle in and of itself! I packed our lunch so we didn't have to stop for that either! So we made it to Deming in exactly 4 1/2 hours! The main event of the weekend was the homecoming of my nephew, Cassel. He has been serving in the California, Anaheim spanish-speaking mission. The kids have been praying for him every day for 2 years and so it was really cool that we got to see him come home!

My older brother who lives in San Diego came down as well so it was great to see him and the kids LOVED being with their cousins! Ethan and Seth were inseparable the entire weekend. We had the best time hanging out with family all weekend long. The deserts of AZ and NM were absolutely breathtaking because of all the rain we have had. On the drive down there were people pulling off the road everywhere to take pictures of all the BEAUTIFUL desert flowers. In Deming, the main mountain range, the "Floridas," was covered in yellow and pink poppies. We took a little road trip out in the desert to see the sights up close.

Only in Deming is it cool to load up your kids in the back of a truck and drive out in the desert!

Ethan and Max found this bumper in the middle of a wash! We are thinking that the driver had no idea that his bumper complete with a current license plate was lost out in the middle of nowhere! (My dad being the good citizen that he is loaded up the bumper to take back to the DMV)!

Tatum actually kept this flower held tightly in her hand. Right after our off-roading adventure we went to the nursing home to see my grandma. Tatum walked right up to her and handed over the flower to GG. It was if she had planned this all along! And she probably did! Sooo stinkin' cute!!!

And of course no trip would be complete without visiting my dear, sweet, 88 year old Grandma. She looks forwards to her little mini-piano concerts from Carlie. I just love this sweet lady with all my heart!!! She is the BEST grandma any kid could ask for!

  1. wow you are a brave girl! A road trip by myself with 4 kids - I am not so sure about that. Looks like you guys had a great trip though.
