Paris 2018!!!

Ahh Paris!  It really is an amazing place to visit.  I just definitely prefer the slower pace life in my old age:)  Ethan was floored by the CRAZY driving here in Paris--the picture of the Arc de Triomphe does not do justice to the craziness lane-less driving!!!  My husband is SERIOUSLY one of the BEST drivers I know!  He successfully drives in this insanity year after year IN A STICK SHIFT with no accidents to date!  And his parking abilities?!?!  Holy heck the man can park/parallel park in the tiniest of spots.  LOVE YOU BABE!

Notre Dame
We climbed the Eiffel Tower our first night in town!  Ethan left us in the dust!  He was like part mountain goat or we're just old and out of shape!

Views from the top:

We hit the ground running on day 2.  We were hoping to get into the Catacombs again this year but they were on strike!  Not sure what that means exactly but oh well, we had no problem filling in our time in other ways!

As if we hadn't climbed enough stairs already, we headed over to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris--which is the highest point of the city.  There are just over 300 steps to get to the top--less than half of the 669 steps we climbed at the Eiffel tower but still grueling:)  The climb is definitely worth it for the view alone.  It is also my favorite place in Paris to shop and eat gelato!

the 300 stairs!

THAT VIEW!!!

The fancy gelato!

We also took a river cruise of the city which is something we have not down before.  It was an awesome way to see the whole city!  And once again, the views did not disappoint.

We we packed as much as we could into 2 days in this city.  We ran ourselves ragged for sure.  We had a long car drive to Germany the next day--about 6 hours--but glad to have an excuse to sit for awhile:)  Until next time France!
